The Property:
A 4 bedroom terraced property on Cricklade Avenue, Streatham.
The Client:
A professional couple with two children
The Brief:
Build a kitchen extension at the rear of the property.
Design and install a new kitchen which would be bright and airy as well as practical. The family also requested a dining area within the kitchen to enjoy the views of the garden.
The Work:
The new extension is long and has a lot of natural light: the large side windows and modern bi-fold doors opening into the garden creating a stunning focal point. The white matt kitchen has a sleek line, the handle-less cupboards and drawers along with the bespoke grey composite worktop create a seamless look. It has been designed to be practical with large cupboards and drawers for easy storage, under unit lighting, and fitted with top range appliances. The large square slate floor tiles links the white pristine kitchen to the more colourful dining area and balance the contrasting effect. They are also hard-wearing and easy to look after.
The dining area contrast with the kitchen: the red brick of the wall has been left exposed and this stunning feature brings colour and texture to the kitchen creating a truly "urban chic" look. The furniture and lighting accentuate the "London industrial" touch while retaining a light and elegant feel. The clear fumed colour chairs and matt black/gold pendant creates a trendy look.
