Victorian terrace 5 bedroom house in Streatham Hill, South West London.
Complete house refurbishment and loft conversion, including en-suite bathrooms, a built-in wardrobe in the master bedroom, and structural work in the lounge to open up into the dining room.
Stage 1 Refurbishment
After receiving the final drawings and plan from our architect the work could proceed. As the family were living in the house we ensured there was minimum disruption and started the work in the lounge and dining room. We knocked through the dining room wall and installed a steel beam to open up the space into the lounge and creating a light and airy open space. Our carpenter built new bespoke wooden doors. Please note all building control procedures were followed and arranged by Lifestyle Interiors.
Meanwhile we also started work in the master bedroom. We designed small but a perfectly formed en-suite which solved the space issue caused by the chimney breast. To maximise the space, we installed bespoke ceiling-high, built-in wardrobe. They are in line with the en-suite to create a seamless space with balanced proportion.
All the bedrooms have been fitted with new carpet and are fully redecorated. The new lounge and reception area have been fitted with new Tuscan oak flooring. Electrical work consisted of fully re-wiring the lounge and installing new pendant and wall lights.
Stage 2 Loft Conversion
In the meantime, we had received the calculation made by the structural engineer for the loft conversion. The room was elegantly large with relatively high ceiling creating more light into room. This allowed greater flexibility for more comfort and practicality and meant we could create an en-suite bathroom.
