Wimbledon is located in the south west area of London, south of Wandsworth and east of Kingston upon Thames.
The beautiful area is considered to be an affluent suburb with a mix of Victorian houses ,modern houses and low rise apartments. The residential area is split into two sections, known as the village, and the town. The village is centred around the High street, being a part of the original medieval village and now its a prime residential area of London commanding high prices. The town is a part of the new development centerd around The Broadway.
Wimbledon probably is best known for being home of tennis, although tennis was not the only sport to bring national fame to Wimbledon.
